Apple Mail (and Calendar, and Notes, etc.) support Microsofts EWS protocol. However, there is a reasonable MAPI substitute: Exchange Web Services (EWS). The most attractive feature for me so far is the ability to support more than one Exchange account. Would be great seeing it on Mac.
